Journey Into Nyx PTQ Top 8 Decklists – Charlottesville VA 2/16/14

On Sunday, February 16th, The End Games hosted our first ever PTQ! Despite the recent weather (read: snow in abundance), we had 87 Participants show up ready to do battle.

With Abe our level headed Judge leading the charge, we promptly began at 11am. There were plenty of brew decks around, with a few staple decks of course making their appearances, but nothing with quite as much force as the R/G decks were putting out. Roughly 7 hours later after 7 rounds of Swiss we cut to the Top 8 competitors. With so many explosive decks around and a trip to Atlanta on the line, each game was exciting to watch. Eventually it came down to Erik Hensley and Jon Wood for the top prize. It was a Monster Mash all the way to game 3, but after all was said and done Jon Wood emerged the Victor.

Congratulations to the Top 8 competitors, and thank you to everyone that showed up to participate. It was a pleasure having you and we hope to see you all again!
